Evergreen Midstream is a North American company co-located in Houston and Calgary, created specifically to build and optimize a sustainable, long-lived infrastructure business; focused on renewable natural resources and midstream asset acquisition & development. GREG HARPER, Chairman & CEO
Greg is a co-founder of Evergreen Midstream LLC with a proven record as a results-oriented senior executive and board member driving and delivering commercial value and operational excellence in the midstream and electric merchant generation sectors.
Greg recently served as an independent director on the Board of Sprague Resources, LP, and is currently on the board of Woodway Energy Infrastructure, a Macquarie Capital business unit. Greg was formerly appointed President and CEO of Blue Mountain Midstream LLC in April 2018, a subsidiary of Riviera Resources, and also served as a member of the board of Riviera. The company successfully transacted in 2020 after placing a new 250,000 Mcf/d gas processing plant and over 200 miles of gas, oil, and water gathering infrastructure into service.
Greg retired in April 2017 as President of Gas Pipelines and Processing at Enbridge, Inc., where he served since his appointment in January 2014. As the head of Enbridge’s natural gas business, Greg’s deep and proven operational, commercial, and developmental experience, thanks to an extensive background in the natural gas industry, helped initiate and facilitate the acquisition of his predecessor company Spectra Energy, creating the most significant energy transportation company in North America. Based in Houston, Greg joined Enbridge from Southwest Energy, where he served as Senior Vice President, Midstream, and held the position of Group President, Pipelines and Gathering at CenterPoint Energy. Before joining Center Point in 2008, Greg enjoyed a 20-year career with Spectra Energy and its predecessor companies, including Texas Eastern, where he started as a construction engineer, Duke Energy, where he ran the merchant energy and trading business and eventually rose to the role of President and CEO of Spectra Energy Partners.
He served as Chairman of the Board of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) and is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors. A native of Owensboro, Ky., Greg is actively involved in community service, including educational, industry, professional, and arts organizations; he serves on the Houston Area Women’s Center board and is also Past Chairman of the board of directors of Theatre Under the Stars.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Kentucky. He was inducted into the Hall of Distinction and serves on the college’s Dean’s Advisory Council. Greg also holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree with Honors from the University of Houston, where he now serves on the Bauer College Board.
JONATHAN CROUSE, President
Jonathan serves as President of Evergreen Midstream. He has a successful track record contributing to the founding, scaling, and value creation across multiple midstream companies in the private sector.
Prior to joining Evergreen, Jonathan co-founded and led the commercial and business development efforts for Align Midstream Partners II as Vice President of Business Development. Align II was a leading greenfield midstream business with substantial assets in the broader Texas Haynesville, growing from a startup to over 700 MMCFD of system-wide volume at exit to Momentum Midstream in August of 2022. Prior to Align II, Jonathan was Vice President of Business Development for Align Midstream Partners I where he led the commercialization and growth following multiple acquisitions of underutilized natural gas gathering and processing assets in East Texas. Align I was successfully monetized to Enable Midstream in October of 2017.
Prior to joining Align I, Jonathan co-founded and led the commercialization efforts of PSI Midstream, a greenfield midstream business with assets across South Louisiana. PSI Midstream was successfully monetized to Harvest Midstream in October of 2015. Jonathan started his career in energy in various finance-related roles of increasing responsibility at Superior Natural Gas Corporation.
In addition to Evergreen, Jonathan currently volunteers his time by serving as a board member and President of the Natural Gas Society of East Texas and is a former national board member of the GPA Midstream Association. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a BBA in Finance.
AUBREY DEKOK, Chief Operating Officer
Aubrey is a co-founder of Evergreen Midstream LLC with extensive experience in development, design, construction, and operation of energy infrastructure in North American markets. He is customer oriented and has a track record for delivering value in a safe and responsible manner. He also has a history of delivering projects on an aggressive schedule and within budget.
Aubrey was formerly VP Business Development with Tidewater Midstream and Infrastructure Ltd., where he was focused on customer and new project development. Aubrey was responsible for the greenfield development, including extensive stakeholder engagement, of a new $275 MM Montney sour gas gathering and processing facility with 100,000 Mcf/d of gas processing and 15,000 bpd liquids handling capacity. The project included multiple gas and liquids egress options to enhance customer netbacks, including integration with a proprietary gas storage asset and an on-site co-generation facility. Aubrey developed numerous projects to grow the company from including headers, compression, pipeline assets, and a 10,000 bpd C2+ NGL fractionation facility.
From 2011 to 2016 he was with Shell Canada and led a technical team accountable for delivery of operations focused management of change projects contributing to improved safety, operational reliability, and a net >$10 MM annual business improvement across approximately 150 projects per year.
From 2006 to 2011 he was with DPH Engineering (now WSP). As a Senior Project Engineer he worked with Producers and Midstream companies to design and execute a broad range of oil and gas projects in Western Canada including wellsites, compression, pipelines, and gas plants.
From 2003 to 2006 Aubrey was with Maple Leaf Foods rotating through supervisory positions within operations and gained experience in lean manufacturing and six sigma implementation.
Aubrey resides in Okotoks, AB and enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, including involvement in family farming and ranching operations.
He has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development from the University of Calgary.
SHAWN PEDERSEN, Chief Commercial Officer
Shawn is a co-founder of Evergreen Midstream LLC with extensive experience in business development, and strategy, joint ventures, land, and commercial operations in the energy infrastructure space in North America. He brings integrity, a strong work ethic and tireless commitment to customer focused operations and commitment to safety in everything he does.
Shawn was formerly VP Business Development with Tidewater Midstream and Infrastructure Ltd. In the Downstream Business Unit, where he was focused on enabling egress for the downstream production in North America, marketing, and First Nations and Government Relations for Tidewater. Shawn was focused on terminal access, on and offshore, in the North American market as well as asphalt and renewable fuel markets.
Shawn started in oil and gas with Canadian Natural Resources working in the land department where he gained immense experience in the industry in Land and joint ventures. He moved on to Talisman Energy where he worked on Infrastructure Planning and Strategy in Canada and the US. He moved to Pembina where he managed commercial operations in the Gas Services Business Unit and gained valuable knowledge in midstream business and operations. He also spent time at Enbridge within the Gas Transmission and Midstream group where was Director of Business Development responsible for leading the business development effort on all fronts to secure the integrated value chain for gas producers in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
Shawn currently resides in Calgary, AB with his wife and two sons.
Shawn has almost 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and his education includes Petroleum Land Management and Physical Education.
CURTIS CATES, Director of Finance and Corporate Development
Curtis serves as Director of Finance and Corporate Development for Evergreen Midstream. He has extensive experience in finance and the optimization of assets gained at both private and public midstream companies.
Previously, Curtis served as the Commercial Manager for Midland Basin Gathering and Processing at Enterprise Products, joining the company through their acquisition of Navitas Midstream. At Navitas, he held the position of Director of Commercial Contracts and Optimization after initially starting as the Director of Financial Analysis when the company was formed in 2014.
Before joining Navitas, Curtis worked as the Director of Financial Planning at Kinder Morgan, where he had assumed various finance and accounting roles following the acquisition of Copano Energy.
Curtis began his energy career in finance and accounting at Superior Natural Gas Corporation. He holds a BBA in Finance from Texas A&M University.
